W2 Printing - what to look for to be sure they are correct
(Posted by: Lisa Sick 12/12/2005)
- You must close the Payroll EOY once in order for the W2's to have the correct data available.
- Run the Print W2's option, but be sure to print them on plain white Stock Paper first to sample the outcome.
- Check that the year printed is accurate (ex. 2005).
- Check for 401K, Child Care, etc. are listed if applicable.
- Fold one on the expected perforation and place it in a window envelope to be sure it fits properly. If not, try reprinting on another printer. Each printer prints a bit differently, so alignment may vary. If you cannot get the name to fit into the window properly, simply print payroll employee labels and put the w2's in a non-window envelope.
- Print W2’s option may be run multiple times, no data is updated.
