Payroll Direct Deposit Enhancements
(Posted by: Lisa Sick 12/06/2006)
Enhancements have been made to the Payroll Version 6.5 Programs to:
a) increase security when transferring a Direct Deposit file to your PC and
b) to allow multiple deposits in the same day.
You will need to pull all of the following PTF's for this procedure.:
65A0968
65A0913
65A0802
65A0759
65A0745
65A0744
65A0743
You will need to map a drive from your PC to the iSeries right after pulling the PTF's. On our website, under Support/FAQ's there is a FAQ under Payroll or iSeries that gives directions on mapping network drive. The path name is in the directions (AGVANTAGE/PRODDATA/CO?DATA/U3ACHDIR).
The screen menu option will now say: 4. Create ACH file on Network Drive. It will ask for an effective date to select through. It will then create the file with a date stamp on it.
You can view this file to check information by typing on a command line: wrklnk, put a 5 on AGVANTAGE, 5 on PRODDATA, a 5 on CO?DATA, a 5 on U3ACHDIR, and then select 5 on the file ACHPRDAT.TXT. This is the file to transfer to the bank.
If you have 2 payrolls on the same day, you can run first PR and merge, run 2nd PR and merge AND THEN run option 4 to create the file, thus saving you the fee at the bank for the second file transfer. Opt. 4 will clear this file of previous information.
Be sure to have the network drive mapped before you run your first payroll after pulling the PTF's to avoid problems.
The other change to direct deposit is that if 2 are run in the same day, you can merge without getting a"Dup Record already exists" message. For the first Direct Deposit it will use the date and for the second it will add 100,000 to the date, ex. 120506 for the first one and 220506 for the second one. You will still get the "Dup Record..." message if the check numbers already exist in the check recon file.
Thank you for your input on making enhancements to the Payroll package. If you have any problems with loading the PTF's or mapping the drive, please call support.
