Yet Another – That’s not my Job!
Yesterday, a landscape company came to our office. You know the people you hire to make your yard, your shrubs, your plants look good. This company came and removed 5 bushes at our company that were defaulting. They planted new shrubs there, which all looked great. Except for one thing - there were five thistles within 1 foot of one of the bushes that they left growing.
I, excitedly, went out to look at our new landscaping and the first thing I saw were those 5 little buggers. If you read my Blog last week, you'll know that thistles and I do not "play well together". How about that - your job is to come and remove the ugly bushes, put in the pretty ones, and you LEFT THE THISTLES!!
I'm sure they had to work hard NOT to step on the thorny “devils of our yards”, they were that close to the new bushes they just planted. I don't know, maybe they thought they were pretty flowers that should remain to bloom. Or maybe they didn't want to take a life - Oh wait, they just ripped out five “live” bushes. |

How about that maybe it just wasn't their job!!! I'm sure if I called them, they would say, "Well you didn't say to take out those five thistles." And they would be right - we did not specify. I guess they did not grow up in Iowa where we pulled, smashed, yanked, destroyed all thistles
So, I headed out with a hoe and got the little suckers. I should really say Big suckers, but they were full grown. And today our landscaping looks great. Those two guys would not have gotten my $78.
Keep Smiling!
